My boyfriend says he doesn’t like my friend as a person, but sometimes his actions say otherwise.

I have a friend, we’ll call her ‘Y’, and I’ve been friends with her for about 7 years now. We’ve had our ups downs, but now we’ve become close friends as of a few months ago. I got together with my boyfriend a year ago, and I’ve told him about Y, and explained my feelings towards her, as they fluctuated a lot during the beginning of my relationship with my boyfriend. He never really had much to say about her until they too became friends later in our relationship, but he soon found that he didn’t really like her as a person, he said that he wasn’t a fan of her personality. We both respected each other’s choices as I still liked her as a friend, and I was fine if he didn’t like her since I understood that you won’t always be everyone’s cup of tea. He still talked to her in a group setting, or if it was just us three, but I never really saw them talk outside of a group. I was fine with his views and opinions on her (since he was still respectful to her) until I noticed a few times where he just acted weird. It started small. We go on call often with our friends, and there was this one time I was talking, but Y also started talking, and my boyfriend cut me off to allow Y to continue talking. After the call we talked about it and he apologised, saying that it was wifi issues. I got over that, but our calls less of a three-way conversation, and more like a two-way conversation. This likely happened due to the fact that my boyfriend and Y have a lot in common, such as their lifestyle, cultures, interests, and political views; so most of the time I’d end up just listening to them talk as I couldn’t relate to them, especially with their lifestyles and similar cultures. Because of this I began to feel quite left out when I would hang out with them, honestly I felt quite forgotten at times. I also didn’t bring it up to my boyfriend as I thought I was just being insecure, and honestly became tired of telling my boyfriend how I don’t like how friendly he is with other girls, since this isn’t the first time, I’ll give this context later*. So I just tried to ignore and tell myself that I was just being paranoid, especially since his ex girlfriend fed me a lot of lies, such as him being a serial cheater, which my boyfriend argues isn’t true. And I want to believe him, but I feel like his closeness with other girls has brought me a lot of doubts, as his ex girlfriend also faced a lot of issues with him regarding other girls. Anyways, I started to notice more things, such as, Y would know about things about my boyfriend before me, he became very talkative around her and laughed with her a lot, but he still told me that he didn’t like her, despite how close they seemed. I’m just throwing this in here because I don’t exactly know how to weave it in since it’s so small, but one time I was playing a game with them, we were on call, and I told them I was AFK, and I know my boyfriend heard me because he responded to me by saying “okay”, but instead of waiting for me, the two of them continued part of the game without me, I pointed this out to them and only Y apologised, my boyfriend just stayed silent. I haven’t asked him about this as I’ve felt unsure whether or not I should since it’s already been a few days since, and honestly I don’t even know if it’ll be worth it, because every time I tell him about something he did that I didn’t like, he always apologises but just continues to do the same or similar things. I honestly don’t know what to do, I don’t want to break up with him because other than all of this, he’s a really good boyfriend, and we have a good relationship, but I’m tired of repeating myself to him. What should I do? (I also want to add that they’ve gone shopping together twice, just them two, and we were hiking together one time and my boyfriend left me to walk with Y)

*CONTEXT* Early into our relationship we already had a few issues regarding his girl friends, who I was also friends with, in fact one of them is my really close friend, who we’ll call ‘R’. R really likes carrots, so for about a week, my boyfriend would bring her a box of carrots every day. This bothered me so I asked him about it, and he said he only did it since he found her love for carrots funny and amusing, so I brushed it off. Another time I was walking with my friends, and R was among this group, my boyfriend came out of class, and when he saw our friend group he went straight to R instead of me. I talked to him about this again, and he said the reason was because he didn’t see me, which I find hard to believe since R and I are the same height, in fact I’m slightly taller, and the friends we were with at the time weren’t much taller than us, but again I just decided to brush it off since I thought I was being insecure. Then another girl came, we’ll call her ‘L’, my boyfriend and I have been friends with her for a few years, but he was much closer to her than I was. I never had an issue with their friendship, but two things really caught me off guard, during our lunch break in school, I was talking to my friends and my boyfriend was with me, but then a few minutes later he walked off with L, and the two of them were just talking in the corner of the room. Their conversation wasn’t anything serious since I saw them laughing and smiling, I even walked up to them at one point to ask if they were okay since they just walked off, and they told me they were just having a general conversation. So I walked back to my friends. And then a week later I was texting my boyfriend but he wasn’t replying for a while, and when he did he told me he was busy talking to L. That upset me, I told
him, and he told me it was because they had disappearing chats on, but I felt that he could’ve at least messaged me on his tablet and at least let me know, since I know he got notifications on my messages, because when he finally replied to me he said that he didn’t want to ignore me, but couldn’t leave their chats. Maybe I’m being dramatic..idk. I also just wanna add that he brings up Y into our conversations when he doesn’t have to, and she isn’t even related to our conversation.
