How to put on a furhead?

So I have a weird question... I'm making my own fursuit head and I followed a tutorial that said to make three straps in the bask with velcro, but how will this function when its finished? I mean when there's fur over top how do you access the straps? I undo the straps before i put it on, but am i supposed to do that? In some vids of people they just... put it on without undoing and redoing any straps. Could anyone explain this to me?
