I rebuilt my night-planning app around the question: is tonight actually worth going out?

Most observing nights fail because of a combination, not one number: moonlight, cloud timing, rain risk, true darkness, and whether the useful window overlaps the target you want to see.

I’m the developer of DarkScout. The new 27.7.10 release now brings those pieces together in a 12-hour cloud-cover map and rainfall-aware Astro Score, alongside saved spots, widgets and alerts, red night mode, community photos, and observing events. I also rebuilt the interface in pure black for iOS 26, added direct sharing for photos/events, dedicated joined-event chats, stronger forecast recovery, and refreshed all 13 languages.

What condition most often makes you cancel a session after you have already started planning—cloud timing, rain, moonlight, or site access?
