Is it normal to lose respect for most people in your life as you get into your 20s?
I want to put a disclaimer that I'm not saying that most people are bad people. I think figuring out the flaws you want to tolerate is important as you get older. I certainly would have flaws that would probably make a lot of people not respect me.
I saw this popular video on Tik Tok that said "nobody warned me that I'd lose respect for almost everyone around me in my 20s."
Now by no means am I saying I'm perfect, but I agree with that statement. I don't know if my standards for the people around me are too high and I'm hypocritical, but I've talked to some people in my life I do respect and they agree! I understand everyone has flaws and tons of people probably would not respect me either.
I think the fact that cheating has become normalised in this generation plays a big part of this too. I had to leave a 15 year friendship like two days ago mainly because they cheated on their partner.
