Am I wrong to ask her for a conversation?

venting/ranting

TLDR: seeing someone for 2 months, bad intimate experience lead to her calling it off without a conversation.

For context I met this girl around 2 months ago through mutual friends and we really hit it off but due to both of our pasts I think we were very cautious but I pursued because I wanted to see what would grow from it. so after a few weeks passed we went on a date that went well but she suddenly stopped talking to me so I just let it be. After a week or two we hung out as a group and something changed where she was very interested in me.

She was messaging a lot and trying to organise something to do and so we went out and had a really fun time and I started to actually like her and was feeling more comfortable and less cautious. So she messaged after the date saying we should do something the next day and I was so down. That next day I only had a few hours sleep and had a pretty bad day at work but still wanted to see her.

We had overall a really great time but towards the end of the night things went south. We tried to be intimate but I stopped it early, I never led her on or made her feel like sex was even going to happen, I was surprised she initiated it. The reason I stopped is mostly due to only being single several months after a very long relationship. I am a very caring person and I know I was nice about it and apologised a lot but after that night she no longer wants to see me.

I’ve tried to explain myself but I don’t feel heard. I feel like she’s made her decision and is unwilling to even talk about it. I don’t want to change her mind I just simply want to explain why it happened and apologise. I also want to know that she is okay and for her explanation too because I think we both feel unheard. The only reason I hesitate to ask her for this conversation is because it’s a heavy conversation to have after two months of knowing someone but I still feel like what happened was intimate and important and worth talking about if not for hers then for my sake.
