Surely at this point Blizzard realize hiring influencers and player as game designers was a mistake?

Discussion

We're coming up on 2 years now of sets being sooo badly under performing that anyone paying money for them just isn't coming close to getting their money worth.
Even those not spending anything are frustrated and bred at meta after meta of very narrow amount of decks over performing and everything else sucking.

I can't recall a worse time than this yet the sub ends up heading towards "just 1 more balance patch!" or "the mini/class set is going to fix it" to then "wow, surely this next expansion is going to be great!" ...

I'm just waiting on the next influx of posts asking about the next class set and how that too is going to surely fix things because surely they can't keep making the same mistakes right?

Yet ... nearly 2 years. It keeps happening, things aren't getting better, some would argue they are getting worse (much of a muchness to me).

To me the one common denominator over all this time is before all of this, we slowly but surely lost actual qualified game designers designing this game and went towards social media (influencers) and ex. players to hire them to design the game.

The majority of the game roster of designers right now reads of people who've never designed a game in their life ... until now.

It seemed cool at first but after this long it's clearly an utter failure of an experiment.

I however don't think things will change. They can pay these people far less than committing to qualified game designers and clearly people are handing over enough money each and every expansion or mini/class set else we'd surely see change.

I'm at a point now where I think Blizzard knows they've fucked up but simply don't care because financial goals are being met so just keep rinsing and repeating as long as they make money.

For me after so many years playing this is sooo depressing because there is no longer any potential light at the end of the tunnel (last year we at least all thought "power level reset" and things would be great once we got through it ... turns out they weren't).

Anyone got any insights or thoughts to maybe try and make things seem more positive beyond "well look at this balance patch, they buffed heaps and now 1 new decks is going great!" because that's a super fucking low bar.
