SR men vs gooners

I hold SR men on a high pedestal, even those that are considering SR and have tried to give it a shot. That shows courage, determination and a drive to do better. EFFORT is what counts the most so if you relapse, don’t beat yourself (or your willy) up for it. I noticed that I started to get angry less, I’m more composed and confident as well as becoming a little carefree or maybe that just comes with confidence. In fact, I even noticed I don’t curse as often because it seems immature and childish if I’m being honest. Now this comes with a few ‘problems’ I suppose.
During my SR journey I have evolved as a human being in the sense that certain activities I used to do before don’t give me pleasure anymore, for eg video gaming for hours on a weekend, hanging out with friends or spending time talking to women just to get some.
The friends part however was a new one. I realized that I tend to attract people who now think like me, it’s easier to spot an other fellow sr brother and the gooners are quiet distinguishable from your average person. This is not to put other men down but those ‘friends’ of mine have started to tell me that I think ‘I’m too good’ to be around them. Why? Because I decided to pursue a higher education even after my bachelors? Or that at a later stage in my life I’ve decided I want to switch paths and go for medicine. I stay in touch with God and tell myself He’s watching me so I need to act in accordance, which means lowering my gaze, controlling my urges, treating my body right, eating right and also being around people that remind me of God.
The lustful friends have started to envy me because I refuse to indulge in the same activities as I would before. I smoked cigarettes since I was 13, I’m now 30 and am 4 months nicotine free. I hit the occasional dab but it’s been 3 years since I have.
I agree with everyone who talks about this exuding confidence you get and suddenly women want to talk to you but you’re more interested in women that suit your ideology rather than the beautiful one with her tits out. I recently gave a speech at a social event to 600 people, talking about the gap between professionals in their careers and the high school or college kid who wants to be in their position 10 years down the line. How a data analyst in his position or a doctor has never looked back at the younger folk to offer guidance. A lot of doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs were in attendance at this speech. For context I’ve never publicly spoken but at the end of the event I walked home with 50 odd business cards and many people appreciating me for giving this topic light.
The weird part? I didn’t tell any of my friends about it. I don’t share my accomplishments like I would before.

Infact

I deleted my social media accounts 5 months ago and haven’t looked back. I refuse to allow others opinions to influence my own. I think for myself and do what I believe is right. If I need guidance, I will reach out to professionals in that niche for it and not an Instagram guru. I refuse to let my brain be consumed by people who don’t know better themselves.

Point being, you’ll have haters, infact more than ever. They will be those close to you. They’ll despise you for trying to be better. By no means am I perfect but after that social event I now have a new friend group of like minded individuals who have the same belief systems as mine and act more mature.
I urge you to not let people influence you and strive to do better. Go volunteer! I give my weekends to refugee kids and it brings me so much joy. Appreciate the small things in life and reach out to those in need, those who aren’t as blessed as you are. Tc
