My cat is acting aggressive towards me after getting a another cat.

Hello, I have a male cat mr meow (fixed) whom i have had nearly a year, he is the best cat ever, super friendly. I found him in a parking lot and decided we were best friends. I recently decided to get a new cat so that he would have a friend to play with while I am not home (student/ working). A friend of mine has a cat who had kittens and a needed to find a home for them, so i decided to take one! We live in the same apt building so before i decided if it would be a good idea, i set up a couple of meetings so they could meet. First time meeting he didn’t want anything to do with her, but by the third time the kitten was still timid but mr meow was trying to play with her, so i decided that it was a good match. Today i finally decided to take her home since I am taking her to get spayed tomorrow morning. At first mr meow was really nice and she was shy and hissing, i fed them dinner together and treats, and then moved them upstairs to my room. So far mr meow has been trying to make friends and trying to play with her and trilling at her, but he has been so mean to me </3 he batted my legs and scratched me and wont let me touch him at all, and will even come on the bed to attack me and that totally unlike him… :( !! I am scared that the kitten will affect him in a negative way, do does anyone know why he may be acting this way?? and if there’s anything I can do to make him feel better???
