HMRC self assessment

I am waiting on my refund from HMRC - I was able to request repayment into bank but it is now being held and they said they are completing security checks on my repayment and aim to be completed by 7th August
They have not asked for any additional information but have also said not to contact again before this date as it might delay the checks
Has this happened to anyone else it’s never happened me before
