AITA for not wanting to spend a month overseas with my boyfriend’s family

NTA

All of my boyfriend’s family lives internationally across two countries (besides his dad who lives where we do), and he hasn’t been back in three years. He is going back at the end of the year, and I am invited. He is planning to go for a full month, and I totally think he should spend as long as he can spending time with his family.
Last night I was talking about how excited I am to go, and I asked if we could start making a sort of itinerary so I can look into some tourist-y things I’d like to see while we’re there, and so I know how long we are in each place.
I brought up how I might only go for three weeks, not a full month, and he took it really personally and it started a big disagreement.
I have met his mum and sister last year when they have visited here, but not any of his extended family. I told him that I thought being away for a whole month is a long time for me, and I feel bad for having to be dependant on his family for a whole month. Would either be staying at their homes, or maybe staying in hotels, but either way, for me spending a month in someone’s home is a big ask, and spending a month away in a hotel is a lot financially.
He was saying that this is really important to him, a month would go fast, that I was being insensitive and that I didn’t want to meet his family.
This is not the case, and I stressed that I know it’s important to him to maximise his time with his family. I just feel awkward having to be completely dependant on his family that I don’t know, in a country where I don’t speak the language, for a month.
I realised that because it’s a sensitive topic, I had already done the damage by bringing it up and I will have to go for the whole month to avoid him being upset with me. But am I an asshole for having these feelings, or am I justified and reasonable for bringing them up?
