Packing for my “vacation “ into the black.

I’ve just had quite a long break from ED.
The last ting I did before I stopped playing was a little bit of exo biology when it was still quite a new thing.
So I have done a little exo bio before, but I’m just preparing to set out again.
I have fully upgraded and engineered a Caspian and got my Nomad on board I have an AFMU and repair limpets just in case, obviously fuel , but is there anything I might have forgotten about before I leave?

Also I have never even used the nomad .

Should I practice flying the Nomad somewhere local before I go?
Is it unwise to have my maiden flight out in the black?
Or is it all quite straightforward?

One more thing . Is there still any point in bringing an SRV? To be honest I didn’t really use it much before anyway.
