Watching the show for the first time [all]

As someone who’s been a diehard Percy Jackson fan for years, I genuinely don’t understand what they did to Annabeth in the show. I’ve read every book multiple times and watched all the movies, and this doesn’t even feel like the same character. Book Annabeth was sarcastic, stubborn, and could come off as cold at first, but she was still intelligent, charismatic, and easy to root for. Show Annabeth is just unbearably obnoxious. Every line she delivers comes across as condescending, rude, and insufferable. It got so bad that I couldn’t even make it past Episode 3 because I dreaded every time she showed up on screen.
I honestly can’t think of a TV character I’ve wanted off my screen more. They somehow took one of the best characters in the entire Percy Jackson series and turned her into someone I’d rather watch Joffrey from Game of Thrones. At least Joffrey was supposed to be hated. This version of Annabeth feels like she’s trying to be unlikeable, and I have no idea how anyone thought this was a faithful adaptation. Am I seriously the only one who feels like they completely butchered her character?
