If there are any HRs here I would really appreciate if you could answer questions that explain how recruitment works in 2026 and why these things keep happening to me.

HR Query

For context: I am trying to apply for entry level roles that I am aware AI and modern software like ERPs have made almost redundant - the typical back office, coordination, administration kind of roles.

Sorry if this comes as rude or ignorant in advance. I am just hoping for answers.

I removed some links to comply with moderation rules.

Where do you post job applications? LinkedIn, Indeed, SimplyHired, Glassdoor, Naukri, Apna, WellFound, FoundIt, Internshala, Jooble, Jobaaj, Shine, Freshers World, etc. etc. There's too many to keep up.

I know that Naukri is expensive, and so is LinkedIn, but is it worth the cost?

Is use of Naukri reduced? I notice a sharp decrease in the number of entry level jobs or even less than 3 or so years of experience in the past 3 months.

How do you guys manage 700+ to even 6000+ applicants? Do you actually go through them all or is it going to be neglected or thrown into ATS?

Why do I get ghosted? My application gets viewed and that's it. If my application is useless, why don't I get rejected so I can move on to something else instead of just keeping me hanging and checking the posting every day?

I see a job posted that receives 100+ applicants in Naukri. The same job is posted again after a month that again gets 100+ applicants. The next day there is a walk-in for the same job. Is it because you were not able to get even one suitable applicant for the opening?

I also see the same job posting in Indeed as well. Why?

This job is more than 1 years old. It is still up. People still apply. Why? I know it's more than 1 years old because I too still apply.

What is wrong with Indeed? Most of the job descriptions are just lazy that it looks like it's a scammer.

The salary specified is in decimals. The job decription is obviously copypasted from some quick AI prompt. The company is legitimate, and searching for it online returns real details about the company. Is it really bad that someone who posts a job for recruitment for that company can't even generate proper job description and assign proper salary information?

I apply for a job in Indeed. My application gets viewed. The next day, some recruiter from a placement and manpower agency calls me and asks me if I am looking for a job. Truecaller indicates that it's Job Fraud. Unlike the previous Indeed posting, this one has a proper job description and proper salary information. But it still turned out to be a fraud.

What does it mean when you expect a graduate who has 2 to 5 years of experience but you will pay only 15000 rupees per month for it? If I am overqualified (I have a masters degree) and I still apply for it because I have no better options, do I have a chance?

I also came across this article recently.

Nearly one in three respondents (31%) claim that their faith in recruiters and employers has decreased as a result of scam interactions, and 19% claim that the experience has made them feel apprehensive or agitated when looking for a job, as reported by The Hindu Business Line, citing the report.

This is how I feel too. I thought as long as I avoid job descriptions that look cheap, I will be safe. Today I experienced a fraud from what looked like a legitimate posting. I would be grateful if you could give answers to even some of these questions.
