where to dispose of needles and syringes when local pharmacies keep saying no?

i recently started on a new daily medication and my sharps container is already filling up way faster than i expected. i figured i could just bring it to my local pharmacy or clinic when it gets full, but i called three different places in my area and every single one said they don't accept medical waste anymore. the county website says the only authorized site is a hazardous waste facility an hour away that is only open during work hours.

how is everyone else dealing with getting rid of these safely without taking time off work? i saw some people talking about mail-in disposal boxes that you can just order and ship back from home, but i want to know if that is actually convenient or if there is a drop-off trick i haven't tried yet.
