Owning a home vs renting

I am a 21 year old student in College focusing on a career in Dental Hygiene in NYC. I live with my parents and I have no expenses, and will be living with them even after I finish my studies. This may shock people but in my culture the oldest child the male stays and takes care of the parents and I am happy doing so since they took care of me and I have no trouble doing that in return. They are modern parents and understand that if I want my own place and move out they understand. But being the only child and how much they sacrificed for me I want to at least be with them and take care of them.

They plan on retiring not in a few years but later down the road but here’s where this gets interesting. They build their retirement home in my home country of Uzbekistan and planning on visiting back and forth to USA and to Uzbekistan. Our family relatives are there and everyone they know live in Uzbekistan which is why they plan their retirement there. They have set money aside in a bank where they gain interest on and planning on using that for retirement, also we own a rental unit, and the US dollar ratio to Uzbek currency is strong and is a lot.

This is getting very long and extensive and I should get to the point lol. Since we rent our place in New York, Brooklyn for about 2,100 and the 3 of us will work including me and parents and bring income together. I was planning on just investing into stocks like ETFs, S&P, VOO and maxing out my Roth each year. Also adding rental units for cash flow in the future. My life is half USA and half Uzbekistan but mainly USA for income and money and Uzbekistan for family, vacation, and overall peace.

What would you advise for me and it could be anything you wish someone told you when you were younger.
