When should I replace my wet belt and what is the usual cost? (UK)

I have a 2018 1.0 Ecoboost Ford Fiesta Titanium and I’m wary of the fact the wet belt will need changing soon and I don’t want to leave it too late.

41k miles on the clock now and I brought the car in November 2024 with 29k miles.

Service was done on the car before I brought it in November 2024 by the independent garage I brought it from and I’ve had a major service done in November 2025 and will have a minor service done in November 2026 and so on as I am set up on a service plan with Ford.

Not sure of the vehicles service history prior to me buying the car as there is no service history but there has been 2 previous owners before me.

Ford say 10 years before the wet belt will need changing and would cost around £2,000 but I’d rather get some second opinions as I need to start planning ahead.

Any advice on how to check the condition of the wet belt, maintain the belt for as long as possible, timeframe of needing it replaced and standard cost of the replacement would be massively appreciated🙏🏼
