I CANT BELIEVE HOW IMP VIEWING DISTANCE IS FOR GAMING ON AN OLED
Ok, so don't come at me for my ignorance, but I have been gaming on a PS5 (I just got my Pro a few months ago) with my OLED for 5 years and had no clue I have been playing way too close to the screen. I used to play multiplayer shooters, so I naturally played closer to the screen so that I could spot opponents better at a distance. Tonight I was forced to play from a distance, and my god, the games look so much better from a distance.
Having distance between you and the screen especially affects how you view motion blur. Forever I had issues with playing games with heavy motion blur and would actually avoid games with Heavy motion blur.
I recently downloaded that Avatar game, which is free on PS Plus, but the game has some heavy motion blur along with screen movement that was making me sick. The game looked a mess, but now, after sitting back about 5 feet, the motion blur is barely noticeable, and the game itself looks completely different. In fact, I hated playing Horizon Forbidden West and have only played a few hours due to its heavy use of motion blur. After realizing the solution to my problem, the game now looks stunning. It just got bumped up to the game I would likely be playing next. Sorry for my rambling; I'm just amazed at how much better everything looks.
