And in the 40s

Its been a very cold, damp year so far. My backs excruciating and I'm having trouble walking this morning from humidity.

The cold lasted such a long time a lot of gardens and field crops in the region are struggling, I'm not the only one with a failed garden. Last time i saw summer cold like this was 2018 iirc, had a cold snap in August that wiped out all the chicks. The hens would get up and go fuck around on the roost or do whatever andvtheir chicks would huddle on the coop floor in the sunlight for an hour and then 5-10 would be dead by the time the hens came back. All the summer hatchers died that year from dipshit hens going up in the roosts for an hour every morning.

Mini update on the dogs, got a quarantine notice from public health, they gotta stay home until November, only be tender by 1 person, not be allowed near other dogs, etc. fairly easy for the most part, as its normal for them. The only downside is they won't get walks in the fall. I have trouble handling a leash, so i trained them to walk without it and stay sitting next to me when cars go by, they are good unless some fuckwad decides to stop and pester me with retarded questions and piss me off (like one guy who stopped every time he saw me to ask the same gods damn question 4 times a week for 2 fucking months till i threatened to make him squeel like a pig if he ever came near me again). I won't be using a leash in the yard, but there is no risk of them going anywhere since they are with me in the yard. Only time they ignore me is if we are in the yard and someone drives into driveway. A few in the past kept driving and ignored them running back and fourth in front of them, the dogs ignored me calling them, and the driver ignored me signaling for them to stop (usually with a shit eating grin seeing my frustration asvthey refuse to stop) then brag how they love dogs (after endangering mine) as an excuse for ignoring me. Those individuals don't come here after how i politely asked them to leave and told them what i would do if i saw them again. Anyway, thats not a risk since i used the little tractor to drag a bunch of logs and blocked off the driveway, nobody is driving in without serious effort first. So the dogs will be locked in the cabin till November.

Cooler days like this would have been ok walk weather, with most in the fall and spring. Walk weather being September - December and then March - May. Winters too cold usually, and summers too hot with bugs swarming (though like today there are exceptions).

Last fall Elliot was showing his age, and through spring, lagging behind, struggling to keep up. Not doing 15 miles a day like when he was 3, now at 10 he was struggling to get a 4 mile walk done, his walking days are pretty much done. Loki is 7, a senior for his breed too, and can take a 4 mile walk, but thats it. His walking days are ending soon too. Kinda a bitch to constantly stop and turn around to make sure they are with me and not fucking around half a mile behind, and i can't carry them anymore with my back (used to grab em by the legs and fling em over my shoulders).

While i will mostly follow the quarantine order I'm not going to use a leash in the yard, the risks are minimal or non-existent unless someone wanders into the yard and i already stopped that from happening (since i was sick of shitheads bothering me)

Its fucking July
