Casual tone
First time ever I’ve received a complaint. Customer called in complaining that my tone was too casual. Specifically I said no problem, instead of you’re welcome. I typically try to stay away from no problem. But it probably slipped out because they were having a 5 course meal, they were there until the bitter end… and honestly I was getting tired. I’m human and I worked before my serving job so sue me I guess. They are lawyers and they know the owner of the restaurant and they mentioned it multiple times through out the night how they are close with the owner. But overall they did not like my service.
I feel like I can get a good vibe from the table when I first introduce myself and we chat about drinks. I do want to preface that I work for an establishment that ‘wants’ to be fine dining. For my small town it can be fine dining but other cities it definitely isn’t. Anyways if anyone works in fine dining and has other responses to ‘thank you’ would be appreciated.
