iPad downloads

I have been able to download and watch vod content in the past. This week I downloaded a couple things, but I can’t play them in the app anymore. It just spins and fails. Is there a way to make them play? Where are the files downloaded to on an iPad? I can not find them in the Files app to try and play them on another app.
