started using draftkings player prop lines to set my fantasy lineup instead of trusting espn projections

Player Discussion

hear me out. draftkings is spending millions on setting accurate player prop lines. they have a team of analystsand models way more sophisticated than what any fantasy projection site runs. so why am i trusting espn's"projected points" when i could look at what draftkings thinks a player will actually do?last season i started pulling draftkings prop lines before setting my lineup each week. if the passing yards linefor a qb is set at 265.5, that tells me draftkings expects something around that number. if the receiving yardsline for a wr is 82.5, that's a better signal than some analyst saying "i like him this week."i built a quick script that pulls all the prop lines using propz api:npx skills add paperandbeyond23-gif/propzapi-skills --allthe /v1/props endpoint returns passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, touchdowns, receptions, all of it.each prop comes back with over and under already paired together so you don't have to do any matching. idump the results into a spreadsheet every wednesday and sort players by their implied stats.where it gets interesting is when a prop line moves during the week. if a qb's passing yards line opens at 255.5on tuesday and moves to 275.5 by thursday, something changed. maybe injury news on the other team'ssecondary, maybe a weather update, maybe sharp action on the prop. either way it's a signal worth looking intofor your lineup.i started doing this around week 5 last season. my lineup decisions got noticeably better in the second half ofthe year. finished 2nd in a 12-team league after starting 2-3. not saying it's a cheat code but draftkings is pricingthese markets with real money on the line. the fantasy sites are just vibes and rankings with nothing backingthem up.
