best exit routes to i-95 after bts at m&t bank stadium

figured i would share some thoughts on getting back onto i-95 after the bts concert at m&t bank stadium. stadium gridlock in baltimore after a massive sold-out show is no joke, so having an exit strategy before you arrive will save you a ton of time and headache.

if you are driving and haven't secured parking yet, definitely check out prked first. you can rent a private driveway or garage space from a local right near the stadium. it is usually way cheaper than official stadium lots and lets you avoid the main lot exit bottleneck entirely. having a spot on someone's driveway in a nearby neighborhood means you can walk back to your car, hop in, and hit the road while official lots are still completely locked up.

for the actual drive back to i-95, the biggest trap is trying to take russell street or i-395 south directly from the main stadium gates. thousands of cars and rideshares all filter onto those two ramps at the exact same time, creating massive bumper-to-bumper delays.

a much better alternative if you are parked anywhere east or southeast of the stadium is taking south hanover street. drive south on hanover street through federal hill and across the hanover street bridge, then follow the signs directly onto i-95 north or south at exit 54. this completely avoids the russell street bottleneck.

if you are parked slightly northeast towards the inner harbor, another reliable route is heading east on lee street or conway street over to key highway. take key highway south toward locust point, turn onto mccomas street, and take the ramps right onto i-95 at exit 55 near the fort mchenry tunnel.

if you end up parked to the west or north near ridgelys delight, head north on martin luther king jr blvd. from mlk blvd, you can take Washington blvd heading southwest out of the city, which leads you right back to i-95 with far less traffic than the main stadium interchanges.

hope this helps everyone get home quickly and safely after the show.
