Fired 2 days after winning MOHRE case, need advice
Hi all, looking for some guidance (Abu Dhabi, private sector).
Quick timeline:
**•** Feb: a few people on my team were let go. They pushed me to resign around the same time, but I didn’t. I was pregnant, so they couldn’t fire me — instead they stopped paying my salary.
**•** I filed a MOHRE complaint over the unpaid salary, case went to labour court, and I won.
**•** 2 days after the judgment, I was terminated. Reason given: “position abolished.”
Questions:
**1.** Does this count as retaliatory termination under Article 47, given the timing?
**2.** If they claim they had an internal restructuring document from back in February (that was never shared with me), does that hold up as a valid defense even though the termination came right after I won my case?
**3.** Has anyone dealt with something similar termination right after a court win? How did it go?
Any insight from people who’ve been through MOHRE/labour court, or lawyers who work in this space, would help a lot. Planning to consult a lawyer but want to understand my footing first.
