Drinking / Cocktail Clubs

🗓️ Events & Happenings

Okay this might be oddly specific, but I'm hoping someone knows of something like this because I feel like it *has* to exist...

I once took a "Tipsy Tour" in Rome that was literally one of the best nights of my life. I met up with a group of strangers and went bar hopping - learning about different cocktails and their history, discussing our thoughts on the drinks and just being social! I'd love to do something similar in NYC, but make it a bit more community based.

I'd love to join a group that consistently meets up to try new cocktail bars (or even the same one if its fun) that's not a networking event or a one-off meetup.

In my head it would be something like:

* Every Thursday everyone meets at a cool spot in different neighborhoods

* Maybe there's a tasting, bartender talk, featured spirit, etc. as an excuse to get everyone together

* Then everyone hangs out afterward, grabs more drinks, bar hops, whatever the night turns into

I love the art of cocktails and would like a classroom aspect too, butttt I also just think it would be fun to have a recurring social group where the activity is going out for drinks. Almost like a book club... except instead of discussing a book, you're discussing a new cocktail while slowly getting drunk together hehe

I've found wine classes, whiskey societies, cocktail classes, pub crawls, networking happy hours... but none of them seem to be an actual recurring social group with regulars.

Does anything like this exist in Manhattan? Or is there another type of club/community that's accidentally become this? OR any bar specific events that bring together a consistent crowd? I'd love to find a group where people actually get to know each other instead of it being a completely different crowd every week, but down for random fun pop up events too.

And if this doesn't exist... would people actually be interested in something like this? I have a lot of exciting ideas of what this could turn into - but I also know drinks / covers / venue fees can be pricey too. Any thoughts are appreciated!! 🫶🍸✨
