Back then, Fu pulled Jett out of himself. She refused to let his shame define him. She stood in front of the darkest things he believed about himself and told him, bluntly and furiously, that they were lies.

Now their relationship has changed.

After the flirting, the trials, the love confession, and everything they have survived together, Jett has to confront something else he still struggles to accept:

He matters. Not just in the abstract. Not just because every person matters. Not just because he has value whether he sees it or not.

He matters to Fu. He has become her everything.

And when he takes reckless risks, when he leaves her behind to face danger on his own, when he tells himself he is protecting her by keeping the danger away from her… he is not sparing her pain. He is making the choice for both of them.

Fu will not accept that.

Unlike some of Jett’s past relationships, Fu will not withdraw when things become difficult, dangerous, or frightening. She will not ask him to become smaller. She will not stand safely behind while he walks into hell alone. If he goes, she goes.

This is a love song, but not a soft one.

It is desperate. Confrontational. Protective. Furious.

Because Fu does not just want Jett to believe he is worthy of love. She needs him to understand that leaving himself behind would break her too.
