Is Google News broken?

The word "buss" (meaning "kiss") recently came up in a word game, and seemed obscure to me, so I just did a Google News search for it to see if anyone uses it in contemporary news articles.

It brings up tons of articles, but absolutely none of them (I mean zero) have the word "buss" in them. I used quotation marks, I used a plus sign, I used the "Narrow your search results" drop down menu, but it keeps bringing back all the same completely irrelevant articles.

Am I missing something, or is Google News broken? Thanks!
