International PG student at the University of Manchester – What part-time jobs can I realistically get?

Hi everyone,

I'll be joining the University of Manchester this September as an international postgraduate student from India. I'm on a full scholarship, so my tuition and living expenses are covered, but I'd still like to work part-time to gain experience, build my CV, meet people, and have some extra money for travel and personal expenses.

I wanted to ask:

What are the best on-campus jobs for postgraduate students? (Library, Student Union, research assistant, teaching assistant, admissions ambassador, etc.)

What are some good off-campus jobs that are flexible with a PG timetable?

How difficult is it to find a part-time job in Manchester as an international student?

When should I start applying- before arriving or after reaching the UK?

Are there any websites, Facebook groups, or university portals that you'd recommend?

Is previous UK work experience usually expected?

I'd especially appreciate hearing from international students or anyone studying at the University of Manchester about what worked for them.
