Is there a good parking situation near Pelham Bay Park <6> train?

Hi all, recently moved from Indiana (spare me with your “transplant” comments) and have a question.

My girlfriend and I live in New Rochelle right near the metro north station. She’s been using the MNR to commute to her job at Astor Place, which is right near the 6 train stop. I’m currently looking for work but I don’t want to do anything lame like uber or doordash.

I’m trying to convince her to drive 15 mins to the start of the 6 train line and get on at Pelham Bay Park, so she doesn’t have to transfer to the 6 at grand central. It’ll probably be easy as It’s only 22 stops.

plus there’s a Burger King right near the Pelham Bay station that she could park in, right? She’s apprehensive about it which is pissing me off honestly.

Taking the subway will be a lot cheaper and save us lots of money, as my unemployment insurance is ending and I have some gambling debts that i’m trying to get under control.

Anybody live near Pelham Bay that can give me some advice on where to park for free?
