routing with battery information - ABRP?

I find the built-in navigation to be particularly terrible. We are an iOS family and I would like to have some sort of routing app that includes my battery information. As far as I can tell, the best (only) solution is ABRP with an ODB II dongle. With the "premium" version, it does now appear in CarPlay (bonus).

Assuming the above is correct, can anyone recommend any ODB II dongles that they are using and that work? Bonus points if available on the Canadian Amazon.
