Looking for ‘peak’ anime with overarching storyline, great animation, and without tons of goofy comedy

I have tried watching a few anime recently that did not really pan out or it felt like each season they were coming up with the plot as they went along. I am looking for anime that feel well thought out across seasons. I also typically prefer more mature/dark anime and do not like much comedy at all. What recommendations do you have for me?

Some anime that I have loved that are the vibe and level of storytelling I am looking for:

Some other anime I really like but maybe are not ‘peak’ to me or the later seasons were not as good as the earlier:

• Jujutsu kaisen

• Naruto

Some anime that were too childish at times (for me personally, no offense to anyone) or that the plot did not feel thought out:

• Black Clover
• Mob Psycho
