Weird Egomaniac Drunk

This happened just tonight while I was out celebrating my mate's 19th birthday. We were all dressed up in suits and having a good night.

At one point, I stepped outside for some fresh air. When I came back in, a random overweight guy who seemed pretty drunk walked up to me and told me my tie was done up wrong. I was a bit drunk myself, so I just fixed it and didn't think much of it.

Then his friend, a tall, skinny bloke, joined us. He immediately started rambling, throwing around the f-slur and r-slur, and generally talking nonsense. He said he came over because I "looked like a nerd" and that he had been a nerd in high school too, so he thought we might have something in common.

I tried to make polite conversation, but after a couple of minutes he suddenly started calling me argumentative, even though I wasn't arguing with him at all. He kept bragging about how he knew exactly what he wanted to do after high school, owned three houses, and claimed he was related to a well-known musician whose music video had over a billion views on YouTube. Whether any of that was true, I have no idea, but he seemed obsessed with trying to impress me.

Out of nowhere, he then told me he would punch me in the face. He even said he would have done it if there weren't so many people around. That completely caught me off guard—I couldn't believe someone would casually threaten a stranger like that in a crowded bar.

To top it off, he started making racist remarks about one of my mates and kept belittling me, saying I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school while repeatedly insisting I was "argumentative" for simply responding to what he was saying.

By the end of the night, I was honestly a bit shaken. If what he said about being related to that musician was true, it made me wonder whether he was someone who could actually cause problems, even though that's probably just my anxiety talking. The whole encounter went from what I thought would be a harmless conversation to being threatened and insulted by a complete stranger. It's easily one of the creepiest interactions I've ever had in a bar.

Just really needed to get that off my chest, still quite shaken, thanks.
