Today marks 192 days since I started playing Motto Immortal on Server 35, and I recently hit #1 in both Odyssey and Seed Spire.

To be transparent, as you can see from the attached screenshot, I’ve spent around **$3 in total** on this account. I don't mind dropping a few bucks to support the dev team, but the shop lacks permanent-value purchases that appeal to me, so I’ve essentially played as an F2P/low-spender.

That being said, this wasn’t purely raw skill or strategy: a big reason I claimed the top spot in these PvE modes is simply that most of the "whales" on Server 35 have quit over time. Consistency and survival played a huge role here.

In Arena, however, it’s a different story: I still can’t beat those inactive "whale" accounts. They outlevel me significantly and outweigh my teams in power by about a full quarter: my teams sit around 14k–15k power, while theirs are sitting at 18k–20k.

# What I Love About the Game

* **Steady & Satisfying Progression:** progressing steadily from Chapter 1 all the way to Chapter 57 has felt extremely rewarding. You can consistently feel your account growing.
* **Low Time Commitment & No Burnout:** I know this varies per player, but I genuinely love how chill the game is. You can complete your dailies in 10 minutes without feeling FOMO. For someone with a busy or stressful daily life, it offers "strategic" depth without becoming a second job.
* **Generous Resource Income:** The game is remarkably generous to players. Even as a practically F2P player, I've managed to do over 6,000 summons in my 192 days of playing.

# Strategy & Lessons Learned

My approach was mostly strict resource management and skipping banners that didn't feel essential.

When new deity banners drop, I always wait before pulling. I test them thoroughly using the trial version and check the feedback from players who are further ahead, as well as insights from the CN server (where they are 4 to 5 deities ahead, though keep in mind many get nerfed when coming to Global).

Another critical element was keeping resource distribution balanced across my roster instead of overly investing in a single deity. I see many beginner players immediately rush a deity to Divine 4 or 5 early on, which severely penalizes them later when multiple balanced teams are required. I focused heavily on team building to maintain 5 solid, well-balanced teams. Furthermore, red potions for upgrading relics must be used with extreme caution (Apotheosis Elixir).

I made a few major mistakes along the way:

1. **Building Nuwa instead of Zeus:** I prioritized upgrading Nuwa early on instead of Zeus. While Nuwa ended up being very useful in Odyssey (especially because I was missing a high-tier Nuba), she is definitely not a top-priority deity. I actually managed to clear Chapter 57 with Zeus still at Mythic, but delaying him slowed down my overall progression.
2. **The beginner trap with Hlad:** early on, I made the classic beginner mistake of over-investing in a single unit: Hlad. She turned out to be a classic early-game powerhouse who falls off significantly as you reach the late game.
3. **Going all-in on Hercules and missing Nuba:** Because I burned through all my resources going all-in on Hercules, I arrived completely empty-handed for the Nuba event and couldn't raise her to Divine (she is currently sitting at Mythic).

Moving forward, I stopped judging deities based on short-term power or hype, evaluating them strictly on their long-term viability and impact on overall account resources.

# Odyssey teams breakdown

As shown in the attached screenshots, here is how I set up my 5 teams to progress through Odyssey:

* **Team 1 (Skady carry, crowd control):** built around Skadi/Poseidon. I usually deploy this team against Spades and Clubs (Blue/Green).
* **Team 2 (Hecate carry):** built around Hecate (who I often run in the frontline buffed by Cancer) and Momus (CC). I use this primarily against Diamonds (Yellow).
* **Team 3 (Xuannv Carry):** built around Xuannv. Depending on the enemy lineup, I swap Eris in or out. Heavy Crowd Control is key here as well. I usually deploy this team against Hearts (Red).
* **Team 4 (Zeus & Hercules):** hercules doesn't deal much damage at these stages (mostly CC), so Zeus carries. I often swap Phoenix out for Athena because of her great synergy with Zeus. Phoenix feels almost useless at this stage, and once I get Zeus to Divine, I probably won't use her much. I run this against Green teams. Zeus is amazing at wiping everyone out, especially Demeter. I usually deploy this team against Clubs (Green).
* **Team 5 (Nut One-Shot):** built entirely around Nut. The rest of the units are just filler to buy time for Nut to one-shot the enemy team. I usually use this setup to beat Spades (Blue).

Note: These lineups are constantly evolving. I tweak them regularly based on minor swaps for specific enemy comps, when a setup stops working, or as new deities become available. For instance, I can't wait for Zaojun to arrive, as Hearts desperately need a proper damage dealer!

# Concerns for the Endgame

Now that I've unlocked Level 4 Awakening Stones and reached Chapter 57, I feel like I've stepped into the true endgame and honestly, I'm a bit concerned.

The fact that many big spenders are quitting is a worrying sign that something is lacking in the endgame. Right now, there aren't many clear, meaningful long-term goals left to chase. While you can technically keep pushing stats/stages, the content itself starts to feel quite bare, especially for F2P or low-spending players who aren't constantly competing. I really hope the developers add more engaging content or meaningful objectives to keep the endgame fresh over time.
