Tmo 5G is throttling YouTube videos through vpn now

Since last week I've started noticing YouTube videos of any kind running through vpn started out fast, then within a minute it start buffering and drop straight to 480p with the speed selection option grayed out. I have both postpaid unlimited cell plan and 5g home internet.
