I don't mind when people have controversial or not conventional theories or interpretations of a story, in fact, I do think that different opinions on art is something that makes art beautiful!

However, I can't help but feel a little bit sad when someone (mostly young) **needs** a specific kind of allegory or subtext to understand the severity of a fictional event and project their own perspectives on media that just doesn't reflect what they think.

Sometimes it even makes me feel that it is fetishization of the topic they're talking about, for example the user of the first picture (the account is private now) ships Toji x Gojo and reposts a lot of porn of them where Gojo is clearly underage, so it's hard to take their thread of "this represents SA" seriously when it's clearly a disturbing fantasy.

The second picture fortunately doesn't come across as a fetish, but I still feel that is a "stretch" like most SA interpretations these days, because most of the time they don't serve any purpose other than exploit the shock value of those who are sensitive about it.

Something can be intimate and not be romantic or sexual.

A villain can be possessive, not respect physical boundaries or have weird body language and still not be a rapist, people need to wrap their heads around the fact that there's a lot of fucked up stuff that you can do without being a rapist, people need to wrap their heads around the fact that a story can show fucked up scenarios without a specific real life practical subtext.

The scene where Obadiah takes Tony stark heart is fucked up because we know what the scenes mean and how it must feel for Tony, adding SA into the equation doesn't prove anything of value whatsoever.

I feel like it's really hard to have nuanced conversations about rape, even in fictional settings, because people (usually genZ) get overly irrational and impulsive when they hear or read that word compared to other crimes or atrocities based on a personal bias, this is why mentioning or discussing "rape" in social media makes the debate so polarized and extreme.

Of course, I can't blame them for being sensitive about it because *it is* a sensitive topic, but I just expect that if this topic makes them feel so sensitive that they can't even handle fictional representation of SA or fictional rapists appearing in popular games, to at least shut down the phone or take a breath before saying something,

I hate forced SA interpretations and how hard is to have rational conversations about rape online.
