PSA for parents who take their children to play at the park at Chapelfield Gardens
I’m shocked and appalled by what I witnessed today as a parent.
My toddler was about to go down the slide when she was kicked hard in the back by a 10 year old girl and sent flying headfirst down the slide with brute force. The girl smiled and laughed in delight seeing what she had done.
Thankfully my husband was right by the slide and managed to catch my daughter before she could fall from a 2 and a half metre drop but had he not been, she could’ve been seriously injured falling from that height. However, she has been left with a black bruise on her back where she was kicked hard.
The mother of the girl was not watching her daughter and showed absolutely 0 remorse about what happened. In fact it was the total opposite, complete rudeness and blamed the incident on her daughter’s autism. If you know your child is capable of hurting smaller children then WATCH YOUR CHILD and don’t leave them unsupervised at the top of a slide.
Please be careful when playing at this park or others around the city as clearly people don’t want to attend to their children adequately.
