Bear as a guy
Just finished the movie, and keep in mind that when I speak about bear here, I am talking about him at the start of the movie, and especially referring to posts I’ve seen here.
I’m female, and even if bear is awkward and scared and kind of a coward, generally, that isn’t a bad thing in guys.
Obviously he goes on to not at all face the consequences of his actions and acts selfishly but that isn’t what I’m talking about here!!!!!!!
It’s just, being like bear (awkward, scared of women, nervous, kind of a coward) isn’t actually a bad thing!!! I thought he was super cute and charismatic (at the start of the movie) and I tend to go for guys who are a bit shy and scared, and think it is adorable. Have yet to have a bad experience with those types of guys.
If you see yourself in bear, just know that usually girls don’t punish guys for being shy. The issue in the movie is that he refuses to face the consequences of his actions or work to get what he wants…because he is scared.
It’s okay to be shy, you don’t have to confess immediately to get the girl - and trust, we do get the message pretty quickly.
So yea, if you’re like bear - just know you’re not inherently somehow horrible, or unlikable or anything like that. Everyone has to work on themselves because of something, but being like that isn’t bad.
The most important thing is just to know that sometimes you have to face the consequences or put in some effort, and that confidence (even a little bit) goes a very long way.
I’m just writing this because I’ve seen lots of posts of guys being angry at themselves for being shy and awkward, and lots of other posts of people absolutely ripping bear apart for not being the most confident of guys.
AND AGAIN I’m not trying to say that his later actions in the movie are great !!!!!!!!!!!!! More so that being like him doesn’t mean someone is inherently malicious or flawed or bad. I don’t even think bears intentions were necessarily intended to hurt or control, at least at first.
