I don’t know what to do with my former captain etc!
Hey guys, in a manager career there comes the moment the club gets bigger than some players that started the path with you
How do you manage this? For example I’m in my 5th season and my former captain whom I bought in the first season and named captain immediately is now 32 and the last season he wasn’t always part of the starting team. One the one hand I need to develop the team and give younger talents a chance (and buy some younger better players for the starting team), on the other side it can be tough to let some players go.
I already let go a younger player who had been with me since the beginning, but the offer was great and I knew he wouldn’t develop much. And most importantly, I don’t think he wouldn’t stay his whole career with me.
So now I have to choose: should I let go my former captain and/or another big player I bought last year to have some international experience in my team (Pavard) as I might build up a whole new defense?
Or so I keep some of them?
I don’t want that team to lose its identity, but in the sam time I have to develop.
What do you do normally? What do you recommend?
