Recommendations on a More Spin-Friendly Version of the Blade?
Pretty much the title. I currently play with a 16x19 Blade and generally love the scalpel-like feel of it and the fact that it's not particularly lacking in any category (i.e. my slice, volleys, groundstrokes, etc. are all solid with it). The only problem I'm finding is that I think I need a bit more spin on my forehand especially and a bit more forgiveness on my serve.
What I've noticed with the blade is that I have to really compact my swing to keep the ball from sailing on me. I have a very modern, windshield-wiper forehand in general and somehow, I don't think the racquet is best suited to my mechanics. On the serve, it's less the racquet. My serve is honestly just bad and it's mostly technique. That said, I wouldn't mind easier access to kick to again help me keep it from going long all the time (I tend to miss long rather than in the net).
I'm definitely somebody that's athletic, has decent footwork/anticipation for my level, and can generate my own pace. I just somehow don't have confidence in taking a full swing on my forehand with the Blade, which is odd since it's a players racquet. So the only thing I can think of is lack of easy spin/too low of a launch angle. In case it matters, I play with solinco tour bite at ~47 lbs.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
