Need to know if my endo prescribed HRT correct

So I just started HRT like 2-3 weeks ago. I was prescribed only Lupron (GnRH agonist) and nothing else. My natural (before HRT) T level was 400ng/dL and E2 was 60pg/mL. The endo said that because my T level was high, prescribing E might not be as effective and suggested taking Lupron for the first month to bring it down (below 200) and coming again for an appointment again 4 weeks (they really insisted on me coming back). Then they will prescribe E to me. Since the regular regime is spiro+E, I wanted to know if what the endo prescribed was correct?
