A heartfelt appeal to the GenZ of India

#Opinion 🗣️

First let me be clear - not a Modi bhakt or BJP fan. Yes, they are in power because there is virtually no good opposition party. Saying that, l want to also say that Indians have a really short memory. And it's not just a GenZ problem. We tend to forget the immediate past and concentrate only on the current issue. And once a new issue comes up, we forget the previous one. And this was more than evident during the recent protests.

Agreed that the students were agitated by the paper leak and the subsequent student suicides. And the minister should have resigned earlier. But there is no denying that the protest was not apolitical. This was evident by the fact that only the people who have in the past been linked with leftists and those who have openly supported sedition - be it Kashmir or anti-Hindu statements visited the protest site. No one neutral did. This itself should have been an eye opener for the students. Then came Kejriwal who was openly hugged by Dipke. And Yogendra Yadav who has challenged the electoral system in spite of having zero evidence. And finally Rahul Gandhi joined the bandwagon after vacationing for God knows how long. One might argue that they wanted the welfare of students but a simple recollection of past events and statements will reveal their true intent. I will give you the facts here:

Kejriwal - Has already been proven to be corrupt as seen by the money he spent on his house and the amount of scams he has been accused of. And the guy who once said he will never enter politics can never be trusted.

RG - Has already spoken many times about his intent to introduce reservation in the private sector. And always indulges in caste based politics. How can the students ignore this huge red flag? So just because he shows that he is with the students absolves him of all that he has said before? And not even counting the hundreds of scams during Congress rule and hardly any achievements to talk about.

The list goes on. Raj and Uddhav Thackeray joining the protests together when just last year they were fighting elections against other. Also, I don't think any GenZ has sympathy for RajT and his goons who trash people for not speaking Marathi. Has that been forgotten already?

I think the problem with GenZ is that they are being highly influenced by the YouTubers and influencers (90% of whom are anti-Modi/BJP as it's the easiest way to get eyeballs) and are hardly aware of the difference between the last 12 years and the India before that. Just the improvement in India's sports performance speaks volumes about what has changed. I don't want to list every achievement but the biggest is national security which alone should be enough reason to support the current establishment.

Lastly, my humble request to GenZs is to take a moment and look up the last 12 years progress and listen to voices on both sides of the narrative and decide on their own. Not let any influencer or biased media shape your thoughts because they are not going to help you when they start reservations in private sector or compromise on national interests. It might look cool to be anti-establishment and give labels to the people who oppose your views but the fact remains that there are corrupt politicians in every party in the world. You only have the choose the least corrupt and the most pro-people of them all.
