Just need to vent.
Some background: I grew up in MN and moved to NC for school. I already don’t have many friends so half of them are back in MN and half are here. I’m planning my wedding for October of this year and have been really surprised and disappointed with how many people will not be coming. I was really excited and spent so much time thinking about decor and buying stuff on FB marketplace, got a photo booth with flower wall background, am having 9 different flavors of cupcakes on a large cupcake stand etc. i invited a little over 100 people. 37 people said yes, 47 people said no, and 20 still haven’t rsvp’d (but many of them are likely no’s). I originally thought i would have 60-70 people at my wedding (still very small and intimate) but will now end up only having around 40. My venue requires a food/drink minimum of $4K so now I’ll have to find a way to spend $100 on each person to make that minimum. None of my out of town friends are coming even though I just flew to MN a month ago to go to one of theirs. My grooms own sister isn’t coming because she’s pregnant and due right around our wedding date (she knew the date before she got pregnant btw). I’m just very upset and embarrassed that I will only have like 5 friends at my wedding and there will be so few people there. I understand that it’s expensive to fly out here but all they would have to pay is plane tickets because I rented a large cabin for all out of town friends to stay at free of charge and said I would provide all transportation when here. I’m just feeling a bit heartbroken.
