Rewatching the show, and I noticed something.

Everyone has had a traumatic experience before coming to the town…. Like everyone has said a bad backstory before coming other than Boyd.

Why does the town keep trying to break Boyd? It’s like it’s part of the game, or that it HAS to break him in order to keep the ritual going. Look at all the times it has had the opportunity to kill him but hasn’t. It either HAS to, or somewhat like Jade and Tabatha, he has a part to play before anything happens for the rituals.
