Looking for someone who can transplant an SNK623 into a modern 36mm case
Hi everyone,
I'm considering buying a Seiko SNK623 because I really like the compact size and the classic day-date layout. However, I'd love to modernize it while keeping its original character.
My goal is to keep the original 7S26 movement, OEM dial, and hands, but transplant them into a better 36 mm case with features like:
- Sapphire crystal
- Screw-down crown
- 100 m water resistance
- Better bracelet
- Pressure testing after assembly
Before I buy the donor watch, I wanted to ask:
- Is this project actually feasible?
- Does anyone here offer this type of service, or know a builder/watchmaker who does?
- Has anyone completed a similar build with an SNK623, SNK621, or SNK625?
- What kind of budget should I expect for labor (excluding the donor watch and parts)?
I'm located in the United States, but I'm happy to ship the watch to the right person if they have experience with projects like this.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
