X100VI for first camera ever?

Hello! I am interested in buying a proper camera because I am sick of my Iphone images. I travel a lot and love to take pictures, so I am looking for something that is portable and durable. I also really like the film simulator feature and the nostalgia of the shots. However, I know zero to nothing about cameras and am not planning on buying a whole collection. I found a place near me selling it for 2.1k euros and am thinking about shelling out on it. Great idea or horrible???? Thanks in advance!!
