Why are people so obsessed with sex nowadays?

For context I just feel like people in today’s society are just so lustful and porn-addicted, people want to sexualize everything, every second joke I hear on the inernet or irl is either sex related or something 10x worse like a joke about r*pe or CNC :(

Why is this even the case at all? What’s the deal with sex? Is it even that good? What’s so good about giving away your entire bodily autonomy at the hands of another person and trusting they won’t violate your boundaries or your body? I don’t get it tbh

It makes me hopeless about dating as well cause I’m scared my potential future date and/or partner would want to objectify or sexualize me :(
