Am I dating a woman who is just keen, or anxiously attached here?
So 've been on two dates with a woman I've been messaging for about a month. She's been kind, honest, consistent, affectionate and follows through on what she says. I've told her from the start that I move quite slowly in relationships because I've been hurt before, and I usually like to get to know someone over several months before rushing into anything. She said she was happy with that. I am 29. She is 28.
On our first date she initiated holding hands. On the second date she hugged me, we were affectionate in the car and in the shopping centre and she also put her feet up on me whilst driving ahah (she asked permission first!) and I stroked her legs a little, and with her guidance, I lifted a little of her dress from her ankles and made my way up. At the end of the date, when I dropped her home she asked when I could see her next, and I said next weekend I'll let her know. She then whispered "can we kiss?" and we ended up having a passionate kiss where I leaned in and we made out. She also told me she really wanted me and had wanted to kiss me all night. When I said I wanted to keep taking things slowly physically, she seemed a little disappointed and jokingly said, "Sorry, you won't see me again now," but then we kissed again and she texted afterwards thanking me for a lovely night. No red flags I would say so far, I have a demanding job, she dosent send me thousands of messages if I dont reply for a while, shes mature, great communicator, consistant, honest, just a little anxious naturally. Over the course of the date she has been flirting with me, a few sexual inuendos, eye contact etc. I guided her waist out the que when we was shopping etc.
This afternoon i text her when i woke up etc -She sent me a vn saying she hopes i have a great time at the cinema with my sister later. and then she said....yeah so i just wanted to check i too to see your comfortable with how things are moving as "a time was had last night". She said its important to me that you dont feel things were overstepped , I have a lot of respect you and i never want to waver that. and when they say im good at having difficult conversations at work i guess this is one of them times!"...i said i enjoy leading the pace and want things to flow naturally, i cant do the cringy stuff and just let it happen smoothly in those early stages. She agreed and said she respected it and didnt wanna overstep.
My question is: does this sound like someone who's just enthusiastic and genuinely interested, or are there any red flags here that I'm missing? I'm naturally cautious because of past experiences, so I'm trying to work out whether I'm overthinking things or whether there's anything here I should be concerned about. I hold back on physical things too early.
