Hi all, I had an interesting experience that I thought I'd share.

I was playing as Fathomless Mud (my absolute favourite spirit, what a dude!) against those pesky English level 4 invaders. I got to the start of round 8 and the board looked as the picture shows.

Usually I'd reclaim, since I have no cards left in hand. But in this instance I realised the win condition is no more cities, and if I can go for G2 and build a sacred site in land 3, my special rule will stop them building a city there. They wouldn't build any more cities, I'd take blight in both wetlands, but not enough to lose the game, and already have Dahan prepared in land 7 to wipe out the last city a round later. So I played a round without playing any cards at all, then in the next round I reclaimed, defended land 7 and won on the Dahan counter attack. (also as it happened, one of the fear cards prevented the cascading blight in land 6).

But the thing is, winning this way felt... Dirty. Like I wasn't playing in the spirit (no pun intended) of the game. I get that underplaying to avoid reclaim is a strategy, but have you ever played 0 cards late game in order to quickly meet the win condition? It just felt unthematic, like I was playing just to achieve the win condition.

Also, I only have base game and Horizons, but I imagine playing with event cards from other expansions make this less viable?
