Accomodation
Hi everyone!
My family (6 people) and I are visiting Shanghai for 2 weeks at the beginning of August (yes… next week 😅), and we’re currently trying to find accommodation.
We’re a bit confused about how people usually book places to stay in Shanghai.
Is Trip.com basically the main option, or are there other reliable websites/apps that locals or experienced travelers use?
Ideally, we’d love to stay in a serviced apartment or apartment hotel rather than a regular hotel. Since we’re a family of six, having a living room, kitchen, washing machine, and more space would make a huge difference. We’d really prefer that over booking three separate hotel rooms.
Unfortunately, Airbnb doesn’t seem to be an option in China anymore, so we’re wondering what people use instead.
We’re looking for something in a nice, walkable neighborhood (currently considering Jing’an), close to a metro station, parks, cafés, and local breakfast places.
Any recommendations for:
Booking platforms?
Serviced apartment chains?
Websites that foreigners can use?
Areas we should look at (or avoid)?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
