Hungarian GP 2026 - Grid Penalties for the Top 2 drivers competing for the 2026 Championship
Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton, have both received 3 place grid drops for the Hungarian GP. Antonelli who qualified P4 will start P7. Hamilton who "missed out" on pole qualified P2 but will start the race P5.
- Leclerc moves up 1 place
- Piastri moves up 2 places
- Verstappen moves up 2 places
- Russell moves up 1 place
The biggest winners here are Piastri - who was the driver Lewis was said to have impeded and Verstappen who lost control of his car and ruined the fast laps of Antonelli and Russell but benefited from his spin.
Any driver who ruins the fast laps of other drivers in Q3 should receive a penalty.
