Play test Feedback, console

📢 Feedback 📢

Tutorial: 8. Was comprehensive enough and something HLL has always needed. I wonder if server owners can filter to only new players who have gone through it at least once.

Mechanics: 7. Gameplay mechanics are very similar to original HLL. OPs, garrisons, capture points, etc, are all still essential.

Decent new features include select fire, bayonets, a capacity-base a la cart load-out, swimming, ladder climbing, etc.

Helicopters, tunnels, buildable assets, etc, seemed to function mostly okay.

Graphics: 5. They’re about on par with the Expression games WW2 HLL maps like Mortain or Elsenborn Ridge. I dislike this map design because, in contrast to the care and detail put into the original Black Matter maps, these all seem to me to just be low code asset placement.

Audio: 6. It was fine but not spectacular.

Stability: 6. I got consistently lower ping on full servers in the play test than I get in the WW2 game.

General gameplay: 6. Because this was just a play test, I didn’t see a ton of strategy or cooperation. There was more of a “team deathmatch” atmosphere but that’s likely due to players being mainly wanting to test the combat elements.

As the strategy mechanics are there, I’d expect HLLV to play similarly to HLL.

Overall, a non-weighted average of about a 6.3. For reference, I’d rate the WW2 HLL about an 8.5 or 9 based mainly on replay value and overall enjoyment.
